In the September 2022 edition of Shomokal Feature, one of Bangladesh's leading newspapers, HerWILL's groundbreaking work in advancing gender equality through economic empowerment in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) was prominently featured. This recognition comes as a testament to the organization's significant strides in empowering women, particularly in fields where they have historically been underrepresented.

Founded by Farhana Hassan in 2020, HerWILL has rapidly become a leader in advocating for gender equality by focusing on the empowerment of women through education, leadership, and entrepreneurship within the STEM sector. The organization’s mission is clear: to eliminate barriers and create equal opportunities for women, encouraging their participation and success in these dynamic and essential fields.

HerWILL's work is not just about addressing the gender disparity in STEM but also about fostering an inclusive environment where women can thrive. Through strategic partnerships with global organizations and tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and CARE International, HerWILL has been able to create and organize various initiatives, including datathons, leadership training, and entrepreneurship workshops.

The Shomokal Feature article highlights HerWILL's efforts to inspire and equip women with the skills they need to succeed in STEM industries. It reflects the organization’s commitment to building a gender-neutral society and enhancing the global representation of women in these critical areas. Farhana Hassan’s belief in equality is at the heart of HerWILL's approach, as she famously stated, “If we look at society a little and compare our social system to a bird, a bird can never fly with two wings and one wing. Therefore, society cannot move forward equally between men and women."

HerWILL’s focus on breaking down the societal norms that hinder women's participation in STEM is not only paving the way for future leaders but also changing the narrative around women’s capabilities in these vital sectors. Through their initiatives, HerWILL is truly making an impact on creating a more inclusive and equal world, one empowered woman at a time.
