Who We Are

Tahiya Islam is the Country Manager at HerWILL Bangladesh, where she leads efforts to provide global STEM opportunities and promote gender equality, aligning with UN SDG5. She is a certified advocate under the UN's Global Schools Program and is currently developing a climate education and leadership curriculum for South East Asian countries. With over 7 years of experience running a non-profit and a teaching fellowship with Teach for Bangladesh, Tahiya has worked to empower underprivileged children with education, healthcare awareness, and leadership skills.

Nurjahan is a Business Psychologist and Human Resource Professional dedicated to fostering collaborative and balanced workplaces across various sectors. With an MSc in Business Psychology and leadership roles at HerWILL, she focuses on expanding opportunities, cultivating talent, and creating welcoming environments while also contributing to mental well-being initiatives through volunteering. A passionate traveler, Nurjahan draws inspiration from her global explorations, which fuel her empathy, optimism, and commitment to compassionate leadership.

Raima Islam is a Machine Learning Student who is passionate about bringing about change in women empowerment using technology. She received her B.S. in Computer Science from Bangladesh and is an incoming Master's student at Harvard University. She has worked with top universities and organizations in data science and AI is passionate about researching in Bangla Language, automated medical and task-productivity applications.

Maisha Munir is a strategic business and technology consultant at a leading AI search and discovery platform company. She is passionate about fostering diversity and empowering women in STEM fields, which led her to the role of Communications and Technical Program Lead at HerWILL. Her academic foundation in Mechanical Engineering coupled with her profound passion for cutting-edge technologies underscores her ability to navigate complex challenges in the ever-evolving landscape of business and technology.

Saiyara Mahmud recently graduated from University of Asia Pacific in Computer Science and Engineering. She is currently engaged in research in the fields of Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP). As the STEM Lead for HerWILL Bangladesh, she oversees operations and technical aspects, promoting advancement in Data Science and other STEM fields across Bangladesh. Her work focuses on pushing the boundaries of AI technology to solve real-world challenges.

As an Information Technology professional, Yasmina excels at designing and leading impactful campaigns, driven by data and innovation. She has a talent for devising effective strategies and boosting engagement, with a passion for promoting STEM education and community involvement. Her efforts have earned her recognition from Wells Fargo, Georgia State University, and Deluxe for her contributions to strengthening the Atlanta community and advancing girls in STEM fields through nonprofits like HerWILL.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Georgia State University with degrees in Political Science and cyber security, Yasmina proudly resides in Atlanta.

Highly dedicated, innovative, and goal-driven, Julian Fitzgerald is a spearheading nonprofit professional with a mission to cultivate human potential within underserved communities and the larger diverse diaspora through workforce development and entrepreneurship. Julian co-founded and currently serves as the Executive Director of The Cxmmunity Foundation. The Cxmmunity Foundation is a tech-focused workforce development organization that leverages the appeal of video games, music and media to teach transferable technical skills.  To date, The Cxmmunity Foundation has donated over $1.4million dollars and helped empower over 3500 students nationwide.

Prof. Ranya Amer is a renowned expert in environmental biotechnology, holding a Ph.D. in the field and an MBA in Global Management. She is a professor at a university and has previously served as Acting Dean of the Environmental and Natural Research Institute at SRTA-City in
Egypt. Driven by her passion for addressing environmental issues, Prof. Amer is focused ondeveloping sustainable solutions to combat climate change. She is also dedicated to mentoring and inspiring students and researchers, encouraging them to engage in meaningful research, contribute to their communities, and explore entrepreneurial pathways.

Carol is a women's rights activist, a peace-builder, and a social entrepreneur. She holds a BA in English Literature and Mass Communication, as well as a diploma in Social Innovation at the University for Peace. As the Founder and CEO of the Uplifting Syrian Women Initiative, she is honored to have received the Most Impactful Initiative Award in the MENA region in 2022 from the Women in Tech Organization. Additionally, she is proud to be a Member of The UN Women and IFI's Young Women Peace-builders, UNFPA and Startups without Borders' Female Leaders, ARI's SAWT Networks and the Mediterranean Youth Council. 

Trina Chakraborty is a researcher with a strong interest in Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. A graduate of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, she is passionate about leveraging AI to address real-world challenges, particularly in healthcare and mental health diagnostics. Her work focuses on conducting impactful research that contributes to advancements in these critical areas.

Neelima Monjusha Preeti has recently completed her master's from Jahangirnagar University with a passion for interdisciplinary research that drives societal impact. She is enthusiastic about exploring leadership roles to develop diverse skills and contribute meaningfully to her field.

Aariyana Hussain is an aspiring young professional seeking to expand her experience in the humanitarian, development, and research fields. She has developed a diverse skill set through a series of paid and voluntary roles in Australia, Indonesia, and Bangladesh, working with international and local NGOs and research institutes. Her experience spans human rights, child protection, homelessness, mental health, and environmental sustainability, reflecting her commitment to creating meaningful social impact.

Christine is an advocate for peace and women's rights with 4+ years in bilingual content writing and social media. She co-founded Unlimited, a B2B service business, and is a Social Media Team Leader and Board Member at the Uplifting Syrian Women initiative, which won the 2022 Most Impactful Initiative award in MENA. She is enhancing her skills in graphic design and video editing while pursuing a Bachelor's in Business Administration at the University of the People.

Merry is a sustainable development activist with 6+ years in bilingual content writing, translation, and localization. With a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics Engineering, she combines technical expertise and social change commitment. As a coordinator at the Uplifting Syrian Women initiative, she focuses on digital education for Syrian women. Recently, she led the Just Heroes project, empowering young Syrian leaders through advocacy training.

Rand is a passionate public health advocate with a medical background, specializing in health, translation, and community work. She is a team leader for the translation team at Uplifting Syrian Women, focusing on women’s empowerment and health. Rand also trains on livelihood and youth life skills at the Palestine Red Crescent Society & Hospital.

Fatima is a lawyer with 5+ years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) in northeast Syria. She currently works as an M&E assistant at Sanabel Al Furat and is dedicated to sustainability and empowerment through policy design and the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). Fluent in Arabic, Kurdish, and English, she is committed to fostering self-reliance and resilient communities

Sanam Bhuiya is a software developer and project manager in land development, specializing in data analytics and automation. Passionate about innovation and efficiency, she optimizes operations across teams to support thriving communities. Beyond her work, she empowers women in STEM and advocates for women in underdeveloped countries. Deeply connected to her Bangladeshi roots, she strives to create an inclusive and inspiring space for future leaders in tech.

 I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy and have four years of experience as an ICU Clinical Pharmacist. In addition, I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics and I am currently finishing my Master’s degree in Biotechnology. With over six years of experience, I am working as a Medical Writer. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with others through training and mentorship. Beyond medical writing, I am a dedicated researcher with a deep passion for precision medicine. I'm passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world applications, focusing on translating findings into actionable therapeutic and diagnostic strategies.

Tanmoy Mazumder is a Researcher and a Lecturer of Computer Science and Engineering at Northern University Bangladesh, passionate about leveraging AI for equality and education. His work in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI focuses on creating inclusive, human-centered technologies. Tanmoy is collaborating with HerWILL to advance initiatives that promote learning, empowerment, and social equality through AI.

Rumaisa Quayum is a professional executive with over three years of experience in management, administration, and strategic coordination. She has developed a strong foundation in driving organizational efficiency, managing cross-functional operations, and supporting high-level decision-making processes with precision and discretion.

Known for her analytical mindset and solution driven approach, Rumaisa excels in optimizing workflows, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring seamless execution of complex projects. Her experience spans across areas such as business operations, executive support, and project development

I am a dedicated professional with experience in project management, operations, and stakeholder engagement. Currently working at Empower Edge Limited as a Senior Officer, I lead skill development programs for youth and marginalized communities while managing operations, data, and logistics. Previously, at JAAGO Foundation Trust, I managed the Women Scholarship Program, overseeing donor communication and beneficiary support. I hold a Master’s in Sociology from the University of Dhaka, with a strong focus on community development and social impact.

I am a university student majoring in environmental science, with a passion for finding innovative solutions to the global challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and resource depletion. I have experience in conducting fieldwork, data analysis and report writing, as well as collaborating with diverse stakeholders and communicating scientific findings to the public. I am currently looking for opportunities in the environmental sector, where I can apply my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world. Najah is a Graphic Design Volunteer at HerWILL Global. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at BRAC University, Bangladesh. With 5+ years of experience in graphic design, Najah has worked with youth development and charity organisations as part of their graphics teams and has also served as a temporary technologist at Scholastica's Computer Science club. She is deeply passionate about design and enjoys using creativity to communicate ideas and inspire change. Known for her curiosity and dedication, Najah loves exploring new skills, taking on challenges, and giving her hundred percent in everything she does, believing it’s always “everything or nothing.”

Mohamed Zaineldein is a biotechnologist with a strong passion for science, innovation, and social impact. At HerWILL, he advocates for equality and inclusion, believing that empowering women through education, opportunity, and representation creates stronger, more resilient communities. He strives to contribute to a world where every voice—regardless of gender—is valued, respected, and given the chance to lead change.

Taymaa is a Syrian journalist and community leader with experience in journalism, youth empowerment, and community initiatives. She has served as Program Director of CYE at JCI Tartus and managed the ComBate project, which connects businesses with local communities, develops employees’ communication skills, and supports young entrepreneurs. With expertise in content creation, translation, photography, and news reporting, she is dedicated to storytelling that reflects community diversity, promotes social awareness, and fosters growth and collaboration.

She is a content writer and independent journalist from Syria – Idlib. She has over 5 years of experience in writing reports and investigative journalism focusing on women’s issues and human rights. Additionally, she worked in psychosocial support and empowerment of women and girls through local and international organizations, including Women Now and the Women’s News Agency. She is passionate about volunteering and community work, aiming to give voice to women and highlight their struggles and stories in conflict-affected areas.

She is a Syrian content writer, translator, and peace advocate with experience in community initiatives and digital storytelling. Her work focuses on women’s empowerment, civic engagement, and social awareness through writing and translation. A graduate of the AMEL Institute for Youth Leadership and Peacebuilding, she also holds diplomas in Women’s Empowerment, Political Advocacy, and Political Participation. She uses her skills in advocacy and communication to promote gender equality and meaningful social impact.

Sana'a is a Syrian journalist, novelist, and content strategist with 5+ years in Arabic content creation. She is the founder and CEO of Unlimited and a Board Member at Uplifting Syrian Women, focusing on women’s rights and social awareness. With a background in human rights and conflict resolution, she creates impactful narratives through digital storytelling and community initiatives.

She is a Syrian data analyst, ICDL instructor, and freelancer with experience in data visualization, digital training, and career development. Skilled in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and AI tools, she provides advanced Microsoft Office instruction and supports employability through CV building, LinkedIn optimization, and interview coaching. With a background in community initiatives and IT operations, she is pursuing a degree in Information Technology Engineering specializing in data science, combining technical expertise with social impact.

She is a Syrian visual artist and photographer specializing in portrait, documentary, street, and fine-art photography. A graduate in Graphic Design from the Arab International University, she also works as a freelance designer creating visual identities and concepts for diverse clients. Her work, showcased in several exhibitions, explores themes of memory, identity, and resilience, documenting urban transformations, personal stories, and the emotional landscape of contemporary Syrian life.

Devika Dutt is a tech marketer for an agentic AI software company. She is passionate about community building and teaching AI which brought her to working with HerWILL. She was born and raised in Atlanta and still resides in the city. 

Arnovi is a Researcher at AI4OPT working on projects in manufacturing and workflow optimization. With a background in Operations Research, she has always been one of the few women in her professional environment, dating back to her engineering classes in high school. She recognizes the impact of having access to the right toolbox to propel your career, and aims to make opportunities like networking events, career fairs, educational planning, and datathons ubiquitous for those around the globe, agnostic of their birth place and gender. 

Victoria Kehinde is a business and technology professional and Program Manager at HERWILL, skilled in data-driven decision-making and process improvement. With a background in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Strategy and Project Management, she leverages analytics and innovation to enhance efficiency and create opportunities for underrepresented communities.
